So close

                                                      so close

"You can do it come on dad we believe in you".

That morning we were waiting in the hospital waiting room my mum had just saved my dad's life by giving him 10 minutes of CPR and she was so petrified but so brave at the same time. I believed that he could get threw it no problem and I was right. I love my family and I don't want anything bad to happen again. well, nothing will.

Has anything happened to you and you had to be brave? Once again the summer learning Journey has given us another task about when you were brave or someone else in your family. but for now good day.

  1. Kia Ora Billy, this is Shannon from the Summer Learning Journey.

What an incredibly scary thing to have happened. Your mum was so brave, and you must have been too sitting in the waiting room. Your dad was so lucky that your mum was there and knew what to do. She didn’t panic and did exactly as she needed to. Your mum is a rockstar!

I’ve never had to give CPR but I did once have to call an ambulance for my sister. It was very scary having to check on her and keep in contact with emergency services,. Thankfully they came very quickly and were able to give her the help she needed,

You have done an incredible job recanting this story. Your writing is very gripping, and I particularly like your title and the quote at the top. Well done.

Perhaps you could incorporate some images into your post to appeal more to your readers. Maybe you could include a picture of Waitange or Te Ahuahu. Here are some tips for making eye catching blog posts to help if you need some inspiration.

    Ngā mihi maioha,
    Shannon

  2. Billy, I love this account of what happened. You actually made me cry!! I know there is a whole lot more you could say - such as how brave you and Gaia were and how you helped to wake Daddy up after 7 days on life support. Also, how brave Dad has been - waking up in ICU and his long road to recovery this year. We've all been exceptionally brave. And you are right - it was "So Close"!! Love Mum x
